EDS To Offer Microsoft Dynamics CRM

By: Jeff Myhre, Chief Editor (3/17/2008)

EDS has opted to offer Microsoft Dynamics CRM as an EDS enterprise application solution.  As a result, EDS becomes Microsoft’s enterprise partner to deliver Microsoft Dynamics CRM consulting and solutions, and Microsoft becomes a member of the EDS Agility Alliance.  The Purpose of the alliance is to give EDS clients support in “development, management and modernization of their mission-critical applications and infrastructure, including the next generation of .NET, workplace and mobility solutions.”

The two have agreed to work together in developing and delivering solutions to their mutual clients’ CRM needs.  This should result in lower total cost of ownership and a better return on investment.  The new relationship follows Microsoft’s launch of Dynamics CRM 4.0 in January this year.

Recently, this closer relationship put together a 6,500 diary management solution for the UK’s Department for Work and Pensions.  The DWP operates the JobCentre Plus, which the DWP says exists to “help more people into paid work, help employers fill their vacancies, and, give people of working age the help and support they are entitled to if they cannot work.”  The joint project supported virtualization to 22 First Contact Centers to improve the handling of the 5 million First Contact customer calls received each year.  Thus far, about of third of the program has rolled out, and the project is to be fully completed before July 1, 2008.

EDS currently have over 26,000 contact center professionals in CRM, working in 48 different languages in 26 countries.  Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 is currently  available for on-premise and on-demand deployments in Danish, English, Finnish, Dutch, French, German, “simplified Chinese” and Spanish.  Seventeen other languages will follow shortly.
